Carie Boster is the Director of the Dunn County Jobs Development Authority, where she collaborates with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and elected officials to encourage and promote community and economic growth throughout Dunn County. Her most recent project involves establishing and capitalizing a $10 million Community Development Fund.
Working with the Roosevelt Custer Regional Council, she and her Board of Directors created a portfolio of programs to support Dunn County's economic development across various business sectors. Under her leadership, the Dunn County JDA has promoted the growth of the Dunn County Housing Down Payment Incentive by leveraging private capital through a Community Seconds Down Payment program. She is a leader in childcare initiatives across western North Dakota and has worked with numerous entrepreneurs developing licensed childcare facilities.
Carie has over twenty-five years of professional experience in business development. Prior to joining the Dunn County JDA, she was the Editor of the Dunn County Herald. She also served as the Associate Director for the Helena, Montana, Business Improvement District and the Helena Downtown Merchants Association, where she managed a downtown organization, facilitated the renewal of a Tax Increment Financing district, and helped create a parking management district.
Currently, she serves on the North Dakota Small Business Development Center State Advisory Board, the North Dakota Opportunity Fund Loan Committee, and the Killdeer Area Community Foundation Development Committee. She is a member of the Economic Developers Association of North Dakota, Vision West ND, and Southwest Developers.
Boster holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and is a passionate advocate for rural living.
